We warn clients about this when we receive a transfer request on a renewal that is less than 60 days old and advise them to wait until after 60 days.
I know the time frame is 45 days but I would prefer they wait a few extra days so we don't deal with the issue of why they lose the renewal period that they paid at the other registrar.
