The year is automatically added by the registry, a renewal is implicitly
assumed (By the lack of a delete command).

Since the year was automatically added, rather then explicitly added,
when the domain is transferred away the registry assumes that the
registrar did not receive payment for it. (This would be true in the
case of a regisrar that does not block transfer attempts after the end date)

It's assumed that when a registrar receives payment, they will
explicitly submit the renewal to the registry. This does not always,
happen, there's no reason for the registrar to bother since the domain
is renewed automagically anyway.

This works in NetSol's favor, unless you paid by credit card, or are in
the mood to sue them for laughs and giggles.

(For the record, if I ever win the lotto, I am going to make a couple
lawyer friends of mine rich suing NetSol over fraudulant $35 domains,
just to make a point)
