One problem I see in this scheme is what to do with new registrations? Say a customer has consolidated all of his renewal dates to June 15, then registers a domain on Oct 10, then one on Dec 3, etc. You'd either have to permit partial year new registrations, or else the customer would have to move the renewal of every new domain registration after the fact. The first choice would be most desirable for the customer who wants all renewals on the same date, but would obviously have to be optional for the customer who doesn't care to consolidate renewal dates.
