Again, I have to ask, why would the registry even consider managing domains by the month, or Heaven forbid, by the day? What possible benefit could this have to the registry? There would certainly be costs associated with changing all their systems to support this. Why would they even consider it again?
More importantly, if you want to make a positive change at the registry, how about lobbying for a standard domain drop policy or something really meaningful. If you have customers who have heartburn over tracking their domain expiration dates, offer to do it for them and bill them once a year for all their domain expirations... -t
