On the subject of Alan Cooper's keynote, did he provide any clarity on his assertion a few months ago that it is the norm for engineers to start coding without having done even one second of thinking about design? Not just neglecting to do any interaction or UX design, but not doing any code planning/design or any design of any sort whatsoever.
I was really confused by that, and I think the thread on this list about that topic kind of fizzled out.
