I developed the opinion a while back that, unless you're legally mandated, a degree or cert is a stand-in for experience in an entry-level position. After 5 years of solid experience, they count less. A 10 year admin who has certs is fine, but the certs are secondary to the experience. A 10 year admin who relies on certs is something to worry about.
