All of the single certifications that I would care about from a 13
year admin take several years to accomplish.

Not having them doesn't denigrate you, but having expert level certs
would be good. For example, if you really cared about networking and
you had devoted your professional life to it for the past 13 years,
I'd almost expect a CCIE number to be in your signature. Of course,
few of us can devote that kind of time to one topic, which is why
they're rare in the first place.
