Question for all you Sys Admins and Budding DBAs,
Between Microsoft's SQL Server and PostGres (no matter the version) which would
be easier to install and maintain, in general ? Could you equate SQL Server to
Oracle in their flexiblity/complexity or is PostGres more challenging ?
I am looking from the piont-of-view of a computer novice who has to select one
of these DB Engines that is supported by a needed application program install.
I seek this information in-order to help a friend because I already have
several years experience in selecting and supporting programs. But to help
this friend, I seek others advise, so that I am helping from a more current
view point and one that is not necessarily mine. I know that I will probably
learn a bit from this inquiry.
