Hi,

I have been an SB3 owner since they first came out and have always used
the analogue outputs straight into a Cambridge Amp. This has always
worked perfectly. I've just setup an HTPC and have some questions:

1 - Do all outputs on the SB3 work in parallel? ie can I feed my amp
(using analogue) and the HTPC (using SPDIF) at the same time? Even if
they were slightly out of sync this wouldn't be a problem because the
reason behind this is that I want the HTPC to show visuals based upon
what the SB3 is playing. But, the sound is going to degrade pretty
badly if I play it through the HTPC, hence the other output to the
Amp.

2 - I have just purchased a Pure-Video SPDIF co-ax cable and tried to
set this up from the SB3 to the HTPC. The HTPC recognises the cable is
attached and all the drivers are setup as they should be in Vista 32bit
but I get no input. I don't have any other devices that use SPDIF so
can't check it with another device. Is there anything I need to do to
the SB3 to make sure it's output is set to the SPDIF? I have already
tried another cable so I know it's not that. I also know that the
soundcard in the HTPC is working ok as if I plug the analogue output
from the SB3 into the PC it works fine (apart from degraded sound
quality).

Any help gratefully received.

thanks
