I have checked several of the remote solutions that are hacked together already. My thought that perhaps it was possible to use one of the already existing remote solutions. By installing a packet sniffer it would probably be easy to see what messages the remote application (i.e. iPhone app, webpage, Android app) sends to the "server remote application" (the part installed on the machine running Spotify). The most promising project I've found is this: http://h3x.se/. It is available today as a java app and works. But the interesting thing is that the guy is developing a new version based on the OFFICIAL Spotify api and it is my understanding that his solution will be able to stream the sound as well. If not; we can use his library and the dsbridge solution. I've send the guy a message asking if he would be interested in using his library for the squeezebox solution and he said many had asked for that and that he was willing. So perhaps if you contact him you guys could work something out? If not I think it could be wise to wait a couple of weeks to see how his C# library based on official Spotify api comes along and then I can perhaps create some middleware between his app and you squeezebox plugin?
