I know what you're saying but I don't need to worry about any danger of spills or kids as it would be out of reach of both!! I've now made the decision to go with an Atom based Mini ITX because I'm not convinced that I could get a silent NAS that ticks all boxes particularly for performance. Price is also very similar to a NAS. I still like the look of using the Vortexbox OS, so I'll look into that a bit more. Thanks again for all you're advice.
