This is definitely not the case. The Infovox iVox voices do not
come separately from VisioVoice or Ghost Reader. What AssistiveWare
offers is additional to what is provided by Apple and is essential
for anyone who uses the Mac in a language other than English. Apple
does not provide any voices in other languages.
You can actually buy just the Infovox iVox voices if you want. You
buy them per language. They are also included in VisioVoice or
available as an optional bundle with GhostReader. I think what is
maybe confusing is that you cannot buy VisioVoice without Infovox
iVox, but can buy just Infovox iVox. Also note that Infovox iVox is
really nothing but voices. They can be used just like the Apple voice
with the only exception being that audio files generated with the
voices are for personal use and publication is ok as long as the
content is personal. So you can use them to create a personal podcast
but not for a company podcast or for distributing audio books of work
created by someone else.
