Just a few points that might be worth bearing in mind folks:

firstly, let's keep it as clean as we can with regards to language on
list shall we? personally it doesn't offend me, but seeing as we lost
a knowledgeable and highly valued list member not too long ago over
less than the language in the post that started this thread, seems
like a smart idea.

secondly, the list is hardly a place for a vent like this. Fair doos
you're obviously frustrated, and a post saying "I've tried this and
that with no results, anybody got any fresh ideas" would do no harm.
On a high traffic list like this, i doubt I'm the only one who hasn't
really got the time to wade through pages per post. In fact I only
made it to the end of this one to see just how long it'd go on for,
some nights I clearly have too much time on my hands lol! On a more
serious note though, we've lost another constructive and active poster
recently because she obviously didn't have quite as much time as me...
that's not good.

Thirdly, I may be speaking out of turn since I know nothing of your
situation other than what you said in that post, but I doubt that $100
for cable can be called a bear necessity. Internet connection, you
betcha, it's a huge resource for blind folks, but $100? Cell phone,
again you betcha, it's a lifeline in some situations, but $100? what
happened to using skype wherever you can with that internet conection
you just bought? It's stuff like that that all adds up, and if you
had half the cash to lay down on a mac your quest would become a lot
easier. You'd probably even be able to buy a 2nd hand system outright
with a bit of economising. Considering your food stamps pay for over
half of your groceries bills, i wouldn't say that's too bad going
either dude.

I'm falling into the rant trap myself here lol, so I'll get off my
soapbox. To sum all that up, let's keep the angst to a minimum, this
isn't the place for it.

business as usual...
Scott
