The only way I could see this working is if it were voice activated.
Obviously I've held one in my hand as well and its entirely useless.
Yet, this is the way technology is going, be it a phone or future
touch screen computers. And, unless we complain and make noise noe we
might as well forget it. I believe technology can make this and other
similar products accessible at some point but that unless we make
demands we'll be left behind.

The trouble is that even if VoiceOver is implemented, how do we
navigate the screen? I mean, do we run our fingertips across
andhope we hear what we're looking for? I've seen an iPhone--totally
smooth, no keyboard. You have to type like you're usinga keyboard
for emails and things, but still, yo gotta know where the keyboard
*is*.

Unfortunately from the preliminary readings I've done, the new
iPhone 3G edition, will not be VoiceOver friendly. We will
probably have to wait a while longer for that to happen. But as
they say, "All good things come to those of us who wait
patiently." So I'm going to keep reading and checking to see what
comes down the pipe in the next generation of iPhones after this
one. Richie Gardenhire, Anchorage, Alaska.
