I offered this before but was told that it wouldn't work.  trekker uses a 
touch screen pda but has an overlay that provides buttons for it.  Mobile 
speak can be used with touch screen pdas as well.

The trouble is that even if VoiceOver is implemented, how do we
navigate the screen?  I mean, do we run our fingertips across andhope
we hear what we're looking for? I've seen an iPhone--totally smooth,
no keyboard.  You have to type like you're usinga keyboard for emails
and things, but still, yo gotta know where the keyboard *is*.
