As regards privacy, whatever happened to the 'board' mailing list that I
saw mentioned ? Why was it made private ? Does it have any current
traffic. Shouldn't THAT be made public ?????

IRC is public. I'm not talking about a 'private room'. Just somewhere
people can banter a bit (sometimes it is easier to just chat)

Anyway, it's not in the constitution so it can't be banned. I note on
Freenode there is already #sme-fr

If there is anything of any merit then I would post here anyway. I'm
more thinking of somewhere we can all get a bit 'warm & cuddly' ;-)

It definitely SHOULDN'T be for bugs or such like - they have their
place. It was me thinking about it being a pub for a bit of after hours
banter !!! Sometime this place feels a bit soulless and it would be good
to get to know people a bit more.

So anyway, not that I know much about IRC, I have setup #SME_Server on
Freenode

I think I have set myself as op, but it's years since I have used it so
if anyone would like to give me some advice on running it, or helping
run it then please join in. It's a bit empty at the minute :-)
