the ping comes from the spec file in the '%post' section. Every
sysadmin if he disagrees can build his own rpm :)

That is the magic of free software.

We could add a disclaimer in the installer anaconda if needed, but i'm
sure that every projects collect data on the use of their products. We
(as free software) will do in transparency, but when you install a big
archive called .exe, you don't know very much what is occurring.
