הבעיות ששמתי אליהן לב:
עברית:
א. מסך החלוקה למחיצות – הכיוון הראשי של המסך הוא מימין לשמאל, אבל רוב התוכן של
הטבלה כולל גדלים (לדוגמא: 4GB), שמות של מחיצות ונקודות עגינה, ושאר ירקות
לטיניים. השדות אינם מופרדים זה מזה מבחינת BiDi, וזה גורם לכל הטבלה לצאת
מאיפוס.
ב. בתהליך התקנת החבילות -- תחת הכותרת העברית „בחירת והתקנת חבילות” (בבקשה אל
תתקן את זה ל„בחירת חבילות והתקנתן” התקני) מופיעים פרטים באנגלית (לדוגמא:
installed xfonts-utils).
כללית (באנגלית לנוחות השיתוף):
One of the problems of the old laptop is that its old hard-disk is no good.
Parts of it can still be read (in fact, usually enough to boot the old Kubuntu
system that was installed on it), but it generates I/O errors like there's no
tomorrow. The new system was planned to be installed on a DoK, from the get-
go. However, apparently the installer tried to access the disk (perhaps a swap
partition; in the default install, this happened in the "detect network
hardware" phase) and this made it freeze. Taking the faulty disk out of the
laptop, physically, solved the problem.
The computer is a ThinkPad R50e, 512M RAM, Intel Pentium M 1.8GHz.
