Feature suggestion:
Is it feasible to add an option to sbpd that allows it to emulate
keyboard key presses?
e.g.
Code:
--------------------
b,27,KEYCODE:108,2,0
--------------------
As discussed in 'this thread'
key presses are a convenient way to navigate Jivelite.
Although the gpio-key overlay provides the basic key press
functionality, there are a couple of reasons why it might be useful to
have it added to sbpd:
1) sbpd has the short press/long press option, allowing each button to
have two functions. gpio-key only allows one function per key.
2) gpio-key does not work with rotary encoders, so a twist of the
encoder can't be used to move up and down in Jivelite. And the
rotary-encoder overlay does not convert encoder inputs to key presses
either. So if sbpd could send commands to emulate key presses, and
these commands could be assigned to the rotary encoder, then they could
be used to navigate Jivelite. I believe that sbpd currently only allows
the encoder to change volume - could that be changed so that any command
could be assigned, just like a button?
