Which SXCE version will be included on the DVD? Chapters 2 and 3 have a "chapter 1" number.. generating from multiple source files? (contact me offline if you would like help fixing that)
Prereqs: - Currently OpenSolaris requires a primary partition to install. This is mentioned -- good. However it is not mentioned that the installer currently only allows one primary partition to be devoted to OpenSolaris on a disk. (There are some very advanced, sick, twisted :) ways to get around this limitation but they aren't appropriate for this guide) - Nextenta, Belenix, and Schillix should be hyperlinks to the appropriate distribution pages. Troubleshooting: - Laptop Community discussion alias should be a hyperlink Graphics: - Unless I'm on the wrong planet, Xorg is and has been the default server for awhile, so running kdmconfig is not a required step. Configuring networking: At top add: "OpenSolaris is compatible with a wide variety of wireless cards using drivers provided by the Laptop Community. Currently only WEP or unencrypted connections are supported with most devices. Experimental WPA support for the Atheros driver is available from the Laptop Community." (Aside: we really badly need a Wiki page where folks can click on their device and see which driver supports their device, if any.) - Add a NOTE: that if you install the v0.3 cardbus drivers you have to repeat the installation procedure after running a BFU of OpenSolaris or networking may no longer work correctly. - Change link from laptop community to http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/laptop/wireless/ since we are configuring wireless in this step. :) - Add after "with your machine chipset.": The examples below assume the Atheros driver which is used in many inexpensive cardbus wireless cards. Dumb observation - if wireless is the only thing available the user can't download the drivers from the laptop community on the laptop. I would recommend including copies of all of the laptop community downloads on the DVD and adding mention somewhere of how to find these files on the DVD. ;) - Eric
