Thanks guys, I will check the O2 sensors with a metre and see what
kind of results I get...I have a sinking feeling it could be the head
gasget problem though.

Probably time to trade in / sell the car as its also needing tires,
suspension, AC Recharge, and has an intermittant cooling problem
(which could have caused the head gasket issue...sucking air somewhere
and causes the notorious air bubble problem which blows out all the
coolant)

I hate to get rid of the car though, it still looks so nice, and
there's very few other vehicles out there that have this nice of an
interior.

I guess I have some decisions to make...it is allmost 15 years old.

I had a similar issue that was fixed with new head gaskets. It would
probably
be cheaper to just run 93 octane for the remainder of time you own
the car.
