Well, after having things checked out a bit, I found that it wasn't really any of those problems...it was bad gas. The station I had been buying gas from creates 89 octane by mixing low and high grade fuel, and they may not be mixing it properly, so probably the gas I was using was too low of an octane (watch out for that comapany with a yellow sign that starts with an s) This was discovered when they ran their tanks dry, and I was getting AIR comeing out of the hose, and getting charged for it. To say the least I won't be going back to that station ever again.
I switched to a different brand of gas and it ran much better. In either case, the car is currently up for sale as I have bought a 2000 Intrepid ES :) The 93 just needs tires, and it will be a good car for a long while yet. --- In [email protected], "Raqoon" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Thanks guys, I will check the O2 sensors with a metre and see what > kind of results I get...I have a sinking feeling it could be the head > gasget problem though. > > Probably time to trade in / sell the car as its also needing tires, > suspension, AC Recharge, and has an intermittant cooling problem > (which could have caused the head gasket issue...sucking air somewhere > and causes the notorious air bubble problem which blows out all the > coolant) > > I hate to get rid of the car though, it still looks so nice, and > there's very few other vehicles out there that have this nice of an > interior. > > I guess I have some decisions to make...it is allmost 15 years old. > > > -------------------- > I had a similar issue that was fixed with new head gaskets.
