Okay, so if this barely-existing "community" is an unhealthy one, then
let's make it healthy one, shall we? :) TuCows provides the domains, we
provide the community ;)
There are a bunch of people here with a big bunch of
domains/websites/services and whatnot, yet I can see no real activity. I
can hardly see why this is the case.
Here's an idea. The CGIs provided by TuCows are a bit... erm, ancient.
We have kind of patched them, making them multilingual with separated
templates and language files. The work is not complete as we only needed
a few things, but if anybody were interested, drop me a line and I SVN
it up (I hope I can do that, haven't checked the license yet :)) Let's
hack on that together!
...Or maybe someone is interested in a DNS zone editor which uses
OpenSRS authentication? I have just sent the specs to one of my
developers, it's in PHP using Bind and XMLized zone transfer. Am I the
only one who thinks it's cool? :) Am I the only one who needs this?
And something else:
http://search.cpan.org/~pmevzek/Net-DRI-0.92/lib/Net/DRI.pm
"
Net::DRI is a Perl library to access services offered by domain name
providers, such as registries or registrars. DRI stands for Domain
Registration Interface and it aims to be for domain name
registries/registrars/resellers what DBI is for databases: an
abstraction over multiple providers, with multiple policies, transports
and protocols all used through a uniform API.
"
The OpenSRS part still needs some work, but... what fun! :D
