I think you misunderstand.. It is NOT that we resellers will 'forgo further
interactions', but that the need/inconvenience/whatever to head to the forum
will outweigh their need to do things closer to them..

Hmm..  Perhaps OpenSRS should be "trying" running both together BEFORE
making the decision to close the mailing lists..

Well, it seems that:
- MOST of the current users of the Discuss list will be participating less,
- the Forum software is severly lacking.
- the decision to close this list is severly premature.

And a question - what happens if the switch to the forum results in even
less participation by the community ??
