Hi all,

Go ahead and set up web-based forums if that's what other resellers prefer. The question is why you have to take the mailing lists away. Why not have both?

Alex raises a good point.

The current list is old and clunky and we do not want to maintain it anymore. The server it runs on is being decommissioned (this is the last app running there) and I promised the folks who've maintained this for years that they wouldn't have to worry about it anymore. Furthermore, tons of addresses on the list now bounce and my guess is a lot more are being filtered into junk folders.

So this list is dead on December first no matter what.

That said, if some people on this list want to keep contributing to a mailing list in addition to (or instead of) the new Forum, what's the harm?

While I can't commit Tucows resources to maintaining a list, I would personally be happy to act as host and moderator for an "old timer" list just for us. I'll keep that list alive as long as it stays active (and friendly).

I have set up a Google Group mailing list that is pretty much a clone of this list.

If you want to join reply to me off-list and I'll send you an invite.

All the best.

Cheers,

Ken Schafer
