Ken,
You are a product manager and you managing the products as *you* want.
You don't hear your customer base. This is never a good decision. You
keep a lot of your customers out with this strategy [...]
Strategy, what strategy?

We are customers since 2000. OpenSRS/Tucows was an
innovative company. But over the last years it is not
anymore. [this issue] shows how tucows treats its
customers/resellers.
I think right after management ordered the mailing list taken down, they
decided what Tucows needs most right now is clearly more
simplidiversification!
The simplidiversification strategy sure seems to be working:

"Updating the community" and "integrating the communication" are just
management-speak for "do something to look like we're doing something to
turn around our company when the boss asks what we're doing about our lousy
financial performance". Disbanding this list is just another way for some
middle manager to say to his upper manager, "Look boss, we updated! We
integrated, too! I don't know *why* customers are still leaving in droves
with all these new integrations and updates we're doing to make them
happy!" Too bad upper management didn't ask someone to listen to their
customers, or to lookup the terms "customer experience", "listening lab",
or "product research"...
