It wasn't installed just now, no. It may have been installed previously and then removed. At least that's my understanding but I could be wrong since I understood K?Ubuntu uses ALSA for talking to the sound hardware and Pulse to sit above it as a sound server, so you'd think you'd have already had it installed. > If so, then I presume that prior to this everything was using the HDA > ATI SB system?
