Also wanted to mention I noticed that while the plate amperes meter does not change when I increase the XMTR gain while trying to tune, the S units meter does rise considerably, the 'PLATE AMPERES' meter actually decreases a tad not much only about half a division.
Also while I am listening to the morning show at 3843 I am in 'SIDEBAND' 'SSB' with the 'RF TUNE' control peaked and now the S meter is reacting much better than it did before I cleaned the relay - but I am also noticing the 'PLATE AMPERES' meter moves slightly at the 'S UNITS' meter reaches S 20 and above. > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] > [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of AD5VJ Bob > Sent: Monday, January 11, 2010 9:16 AM > To: 'Mark Nace'; [email protected]; 'Drakelist' > Subject: Re: [Drakelist] TR-3 > > Good morning everyone: > > I stayed up last night and did the resistance checks. > > Found one tube (V17 - 6AQ5) which when checking it you could > warble the tube and the measurements would change drastically. > > So I had another and changed it and now it is much more stable. > > Thought I had found the problem and tried again to no avail. > So I took it apart again and cleaned the relay contacts.
