I interviewed DVSI Director of Sales Bob Maher in researching my video documentary "Digital Voice for Amateur Radio." He confirmed the $20 price. The AMBE 2000, used in the DVDongle, is $33. He also said that, while DVSI's usual policy is to sell in minimum lots of 5 or so chips, they decided to sell the AMBE 2020 in quantities of just one to hams. DVSI is the sole source - there is no distributor network. My notes also show that the PC "software" license is $25,000, not the $100,000 figure tossed around here recently. Not that that makes is more affordable for the individual ham. 73, Gary KN4AQ ARVN: Amateur Radio//Video News Gary Pearce KN4AQ 508 Spencer Crest Ct.
