Strictly speaking, processing any document is a business process: for crying 
out loud, it's a DOCUMENT.

I would like to have a nickel for every contorted, incredibly geeky, impossible 
to maintain Rube Goldberg EDI document process I 
have replaced which only needed replacement because it was concocted by an "I/T 
guy" who had never spent so much as five minutes on 
the sales/service desk, in the accounting office, in the purchasing department 
or on the loading dock, and never bothered to ask 
someone who had what needed to happen with that document.
