In Emailer version 2.x, Mail Actions can include "create a new Auto File
Log entry." I use this for all my _many_ mail actions and folders (over
80). So, each time I check mail -- which I have scheduled for every 10
minutes -- the mail all gets filed, priorities set, etc. and there is an
entry made in an Auto File Log. If there is no current log (i.e., no log
created but not yet viewed) a new auto File Log is created.
I keep the Browser window open all the time. Each time I physically sit
down at my Mac to check email (i.e., I'm personally viewing my email), I
click on the latest (displaying in bold) Auto File Log, and I get to
visually scan all the email that has come in since the last time I
physically checked. This way, I can attend to those emails I've set with
an Alert priority, or otherwise consider high priority. I can leave the
Auto File Log open or closed, leave it in the Browser list or delete it
(the log, not the messages listed).
This is indispensable to me, and helps me catch important email,
especially since I'm on a lot of lists, and get hundreds of emails each
day.
Hope this helps explain it.
