Chris, good points. I think the biggest difference in email and postal unsolicited email is that in postal mail, they give you legitimate return addresses. I think if an emailer intentionally tries to disguise their origin, they know they are doing something unwanted. Maybe laws should be passed that make it illegal to mess with your IP address or in any way alter your return address, and make it a crime not to have a legitimate return address. Or maybe I'm naive.
