This isn't really all that much memory, especially if running under MacOS 
8.5 or greater. (I vaguely remember that there was something that changed 
between system 7 and MacOS 8 or 8.5 which caused applications to need 
more memory in general.)

My database is roughly 50MB, and the index is roughly 10MB, and I give 
emailer 15000 KB (even back when I used Mac OS 8.5).

If you're working under Mac OS X, allocating the extra memory for a 
classic app doesn't use the memory until it is needed, so setting it to a 
large number won't suck down any extra resources.

Have you emptied the Temp Incoming folder? It can cause bizzare behavior 
(though it usually manifests itself earlier).

Lastly, I recall that the Advanced Rebuild has munged my directory 
structure in the past, whereas sometimes a basic rebuild has done a 
better job.
