Wow! If it's that bad, I would suggest a fresh install of Emailer 2.0v3. Do you have the installer? This doesn't sound like an app problem, it sounds like corrupted data. If you've already tried both kinds of database rebuilds (hold down command-option at emailer launch, then select typical rebuild, and take off for a few hours. Try the advanced rebuld if that doesn't help).
Don't try to move the old emails to the fresh Emailer. Export the address book from the old copy & import it into the new. You'll need to re-enter the account & schedule info, folder, and also the Mail actions. Don't cut corners by dragging old parts into the new one. But this shouldn't take too long, and you'll be leaving the problem behind for good, I'm sure. It's ok to keep the entire old Emailer folder as an archive.
