again, highly unlikely the fault lies with the Mac. had the mac formatted the camera (possible, as it gives you an option of deleting the photos after download, and I don't know if it simply deletes, or reformats if you want all deleted). But had he reformatted it, AND it left it in a state that Windows could no longer see it (ie: with an incorrect format), then the camera itself would have failed to be able to write pictures to its memory. But since you specify that he took additional pictures, then obviously the camera found no fault with the formatting of its memory, and so Window's failure to recognize the camera was unlikely to have been caused by the Mac. >Well, that could be cool, if people were savvy enough to use those >features. Of course it could be cool. It ROCKS! As for savy enough... that's the whole point of Rendevous... you don't HAVE to be savy. You can get the same basic effect today IF you are Savy... but with Rendevous, things will just work. You won't have to know anything, you will just know that you can print, and select the printer from the list of available ones. Oh yeah, another feature to Rendevous, when you leave a network area, the network devices will be removed from use... so your available printer list should only reflect actually available printers or items you can get to. Of course, that implies that you will only be using Rendevous capable items, and since that day is a little ways off, the list will include static non Rendevous items as well. But at least the Rendevous ones will properly add and remove themselves as needed. But I suspect that Rendevous will be picked up fairly quickly since its protocol is available to anyone (TiVo recently announced Rendevous plans, they want their next generation TiVo units to use BlueTooth to automatically detect Macs and give the option of having the Mac present iPhoto slide shows via TiVo to your TV set. They have NO intentions of supporting the PC at this time, beacuse simply, MS wants cash for any licensed technology... whereas Apple said "here ya go, have a blast with it") So, like I said, the point is it brings what had been advanced "cool" features out to the masses of less savy, non propeller head people. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> ___________________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe send a mail message with a SUBJECT line of "unsubscribe" to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> or <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
