Yes, and when something is corrupted you let the next owner deal with it? Things get corrupted in any system. About the pdfs: I bet Preview.app opens when you double-click on a pdf document. To get the pdf file to open with Acrobat Reader you have to change its default opening app to Acrobat Reader. In Jaguar OSX 10.2, you do a "Get Info" on the pdf file, go to "Open with:" and select the app you want, then click "Change All". I don't remember how it was done in OSX 10.1 - possibly the same or using a contextual menu?
