I figured I wouldn't reply any more... but I DO have to question this. I assume this "nice new paperweight" is the eMac that you said you are planning to sell. Why not install OS 9 on it? All eMacs will currently run OS 9 just fine. As far as I know, the ONLY machines Apple offers that won't boot in anything other than X are the ones released since the Expo in SF (the two new laptops and the new towers). Since the eMacs have yet to be revised, they will still boot OS 9. AND if you happen to have managed to buy an eMac (or any mac) that only boots in X, well, that is your own damn fault. It has been well reported that Apple was going to make the switch to X only as of 2003... so if you hate X and bought a new X only machine, then shut the hell up, you brought it on yourself. All in all...
