Many thanks, just what I needed. I don't know how you guys FIND
these things!
FWIW, I spent another 4.5 hours in the Mac store today. Seems that
machines such as mine with the older 28 bit addressing for the hard drive
won't work with the newer 48 bit drives IF the drive has greater than 137
Gigs memory! So the hot stuff 180 Gig drive I got yesterday TANKED after
I wrote that message last night, forcing a panic visit to the dealer and
the installation ALL OVER AGAIN of the OS and a new 120 Gig hard drive!
Damn! I do NOT need this in the last 48 hours before surgery!
Sure runs fast and smooth with the 256K memory and OS 9.1 right now,
though. On the cable modem, things load fast!
We're crossing our fingers and hoping that nothing else crashes, and
NO upgrade to 9.2 will be done until AFTER I get back from the hospital!
