Some apps demand OS 9.2 x. But 9.1 is very nice Mac OS version,
especially so with Carbonlib 1.6 and Applescript 1.8.3. So if no
important application liek a needed update demands 9.2.2, it's a viable
solution to stay with 9.1.
I stayed with 9.1 a full year after 9.2 had arrived and didn't upgrade
until bugfixed 9.2.2 came. I feel 9.2.2 to be as stable as 9.1 for the
apps I use.

However, I do not find the belief, that most, or even less all, of the
stuff in 9.2.x have to do
with OS X compatibility, to be based in reality at all. For some reason
some Mac users like to believe rather than know. Also, what if even if it
were so and you could still make use of the minority of the changes that
wasn't OS X oriented. What then does it matter if most are? Truth is the
notion is irrelevant and also that 9.2.1 sucks and 9.2.2 doesn't.

Probably this tendency to "believe" stems from the fact that since some
time Apple do not disclose everything they do with the updates for some
obscure reason and you have to read "secret" reviews like the ones in
excellent MacWeekly Journal to really know what happened and how it
affects you.
