Dear friends-
I wrote in a request for information and advice regarding a spam message I received
for a Clean Space software and it started an avalanche of contentiousness regarding
France, the US and Iraq etc. But nobody answered me directly my questions.
Up until yesterday I was receiving about five or six spammer type emails, some are
obviously porno sites, some advt. and all have attachments. I never open any of the
attachments and never the porno or obvious subject lines but sometimes I see something
that says Returned Mail, Undeliverable, MS Internet Patch, Internet, or something that
looks legit and I will open only to discover once again it has some file attach for a
PC and I have a Mac and so I Trash them.
But yesterday and today I receive over 250 emails with various subject lines and
attachments, any of which say MS Internet, Patch etc. I called my ISP and they told
me that someone has got hold of my address and are spamming me and there is nothing
they can do about it. It takes forever to download that many messages.
What can I do about this?
Is there some software I can buy that blocks this kind of thing? My Emailer Mail
Actions is something I do not know how to configure or I would try it but being a non
tech person I don't want to hurt my Emailer operation and lose out by playing around
with something I am ignorant about.
Can anyone help out please?
