You can't do much damage with mail actions and you can disable them if they seem to be causing a problem for you. You are missing out on a major aspect of Emailer's functionality.

You can also try the previous suggestion of using the "partially retrieve messages larger than" feature (you'll find it in the Options tab of the Account Settings window). Depending on the size you set, this will keep most attachments from downloading.

You can use Mail Siphon (look on Versiontracker.com) to check (and delete) mail from your mail server before it's downloaded by Emailer (this is preferable to using another email program as someone else suggested.)

I prefer the older 1.1 version which was pay what you want shareware so if you can't find it on versiontracker, e-mail me and I'll send it to you.
