You guys are all overlooking the fastest, easiest way to transfer the 
files from the Performa 6400 to the G4. Both of these machines use 
ATA/IDE hard drives. Oh, wait, Chris mentioned it already. It's pretty 
hard to beat Chris at this game!! :-D  But rather than mess with jumper 
setting for the Master/slave deal, I say just do it like this:

1) shut both machines off, 
2) remove the Hard drive from the Performna (after the front cover is 
pulled off from the bottom up, the Hd pulls straight out)
3) open the G4 & disconnect the CD, 
4) connect the performa's hard drive in it's place. 
When you turn the G4 on, both HD's ought to appear, and you can 
5) drag the files from one HD to the other.
