I think Bill has pretty well summed up the consensus on this topic. As
he says, if your ISP offers Spam Blocking AND if it does a great job,
then you might avail of that service and totally forget about anything
else. However, even though I use Earthlink for the CE list, and some
other uses, it does a great job but I have other email accounts that come
through different servers only offer Spam marking and these need to be
filtered locally. Essentially this is what you can use SpamSieve for.

Yes, SpamSieve only works with Mac OS X, which is why I offered some
alternate suggestions for OS 9 users. So if your ISP does a good job of
blocking, then there is no need for SpamSieve or any alternate but if,
like me, you use different email accounts, you will either need to filter
your Spam with Mail Actions or something else.

Whether you filter directly into a Spam folder and later move unwanted
emails to the Deleted folder, or filter directly into the Deleted folder
is totally up to you and how you want to use CE.

I think by now there is enough information and views to make an informed
decision, unless someone else has any better, or alternate, suggestions.

Cheers
Karl
