I bought 3 of those cards from futurlec, a decade or better ago, advertised for a decent price, but by the time the AUD was made USD, I got stuck for an additional COD that was some north of $200. At the time the AUD was about 90 cents in dollars. And the advertisment was stated as being in USD. Some someone laughed all the way to the bank and I've never forgotten it. And despite buying the OReilly book on writing drivers, so I could write a driver, the hoops I had to jump thru in linux just to get one of them to turn a motor, slowly, maybe 10 rpm and with lots of stutters, just wasn't worth the effort, so I was never able to put them to use. EMC had no driver for it, so I next bought a xylotex & have blown 3 of them. 2M542's Just Work(TM). Messages back to futurlec squawking about the false advertising were never graced with a reply. Someone on this list, yonks ago, offered to write a better driver so I sent them to him but never heard back, not even an ack that they had arrived. I don't recall ever seeing the name on this list again. I doubt if I'd recognize it today if I saw it. Net result was that I put nearly $300 USD into a rat hole with that vendor. And I have never considered futurlec as a vendor to buy from again. I don't forget getting burnt that hard.
