gene, sorry for your experience
for me they just worked using a 8255 driver from ancient emc2.
i did have to use pull downs and it can be found in old mail archives.
another member said they didnt work for him, but that member did not try 
the resistors
or did not to my knowledge.

i bought direct from thailand and got delivery from thailand
i saved the box cuz it was cool
