Hi Gene,
Gentoo itself supports many architectures (officially; amd64 x86 alpha

I made a thread here but got no replies, so I'm not sure what benefit it would
be if I hosted Gentoo+LinuxCNC images for ARM64:

I'm used to that, Alec. I may be the only one on the planet running a
good sized lathe with an rpi4b. Started out with a 3b, but it was
dragging it's tongue on the floor, but the 4b running the code built for
the 3b except for the gpio base address, has zero problems carving metal
unless I'm browsing the net with firefox at the same time. And I did it
just to see if I could. I'm also the one harping about closed loop
stepper/servo's. Many times more accurate and much faster than normal
steppers at a small cost per axis plus the higher voltage power supply's.
Now it works so well that if I had done it first, all 4 of my metal
working machines would be run by a pi. But I've got 3 power hogs from
Dell running the other 3. The idle pi and monitor are using 13 watts,
the idle dells are burning around 200 watts, each. The diff in interface
price has been paid for in a lower power bill years ago. But I'd like to
try gentoo on the arm64, just to see if theres any actual difference.
