For synergy users: (FYI)

Gcode output from synergy defaults to a tool path at the tool radius
offset and then expects the tool table
to contain minor corrections from this. This scheme doesn't play well
with emc.

However it is possible to generate zero offset paths in synergy; the
only drawback is that you have to
have to hand code your approach to tool comp.

Bob Schuppel sent me the following instructions (thanks Bob).

"Well you can do it the old fashioned way.

But doing it that way means you have to do all the steps yourself.
Steps are:

1 or 2) Manually load a tool with: Mill->Tools->Read Tool
2 or 1) Offset the contour with a zero offset using: Mill->Path-
 >Offset Contour
3) Connect tool to path with: Mill->Path->Assign Tool

Now post-process normally."

Handy when you have non-nominal tools or need to make slight
corrections to size of the part.
