If it does, then use a voltmeter, earphone with series resistor or, if you have one, an oscilloscope, to see if the step and direction pins work as expected. Some of the reports you have shown seem to indicate the port is not working at all (where all registers read as 255). I'm thinking that the BIOS may have disabled the port, but it could also be that the parport chip has gone bad.
