That is great news!
IMHO restarting PC for any configuration changes to take effect is
completely fine. For me all the PC setup - installing Ubuntu and
LinuxCNC, getting the config (usually based on sample configs
provided) to work takes several hours, so one more system restart
makes absolutely no difference to me.
