I'll have to admit that the counter-arguments make sense to me, also. I have
not been bitten by this behavior myself, but I do think it could confuse new
users.

I think that's a brilliant suggestion, Paul! And I know, if I'd received
that message once or twice, I'd be among the first to check "Don't show me."
But it would offer some educational protection to the neophyte user.
